The three terraces of the garden (Terraza in Spanish) are:
• Terraza de los Cuadros: collections of ornamental plants, medicinal plants, flavors, endemic plants and orchards collected around a small well.
• Terraza de las Escuelas Botánicas: A taxonomic collection of phylogenetically arranged plants set up in plots of 12 small fountains.
Terraza del Plano de la Flor: A diverse collection of trees and shrubs, designed in the mid-19th century in a romantic style.
The garden's two greenhouses are divided into four rooms. The Graëlls greenhouse dates from the 19th century and displays tropical plants and bryophytes. The newer structure supports three climate zones: tropical, temperate and desert.
Also noteworthy:
• The Herbarium: This is the largest herbarium in Spain. It contains about one million herb leaves, some from the eighteenth century.
• Library and Archives: The Royal Botanic Gardens library contains over 2,000 botanical, natural history and chemistry works. Plaza de Murillo
